Digital convention hosted on Steam will celebrate narrative games from May 10-13
MELBOURNE, Australia – Wednesday May 8, 2019 – LudoNarraCon today announced its panel topics and line up of panelists. Six panels will be streamed live on May 10 and then looped for the duration of the event.
LudoNarraCon is a digital convention celebrating narrative video games, hosted on Steam from May 10-13. An initiative of indie label Fellow Traveller, the event is free to the public and aims to create a platform to showcase and celebrate interesting and innovative narrative games.
Panels will include “My Favorite Stories” featuring Kim Belair, Greg Kasavin, Max Folkman, and Nick Folkman; “Procedural Generation and Storytelling” featuring Tanya X. Short, Tarn Adams, and Rebekah Saltsman; and “Games are a Great Medium for Storytelling” featuring Patrick Ewing, Cassandra Khaw, Whitney “Strix” Beltran, and Richard Rouse III.
“I’m excited to participate in LudoNarraCon, alongside developers whose work on narrative games I’ve found inspiring for many years,” said Greg Kasavin, developer at Supergiant Games. “Among all the amazing things games can do, they have this limitless potential to create unique narrative experiences—drawing you into their worlds, feeling for their characters, and becoming invested in their stories. Each of the games I’ve worked on at Supergiant has tried to explore that potential, and I’m really looking forward to hearing from this group of creators about what they’ve discovered lately in their parallel journeys.”

LudoNarracon seeks to replicate as many of the aspects and benefits of the physical convention experience as possible within a digital format:
24 participating games will “exhibit” on Steam store pages, engaging directly with fans and streaming behind-the-scenes content and demo gameplay. Exhibiting games include both upcoming and released narrative titles such as Overland, Neo Cab, Whispers of a Machine, Hypnospace Outlaw, and Boyfriend Dungeon.
Publicly playable (and streamable!) demos for select featured titles will be available throughout the weekend.
Fans can attend a main theatre stream at https://store.steampowered.com/sale/ludonarracon, featuring panels on topics related to narrative games and panelists including game developers, writers and journalists.
A LudoNarraCon Sale with more than 40 discounted narrative games will be live on Steam during the event.
Interested media with a press pass will get early access to demo builds, press assets and an opportunity to book interviews with participating developers.

LudoNarraCon is a global digital convention celebrating narrative video games, the people who make them and the fans who love them. The convention will take place for the first time in May 2019 and will be hosted on Steam across a dedicated event page and the store pages of the participating games.
Featuring games from the Fellow Traveller label plus a select group of invited development teams, LudoNarraCon will seek to replicate as many of the aspects and benefits of the physical convention experience as possible without anyone having to leave their homes or deal with con-flu:
